Ben is on a mission to transform the quality and richness of urban project information and communication. He has found that many of the problems with poor outcomes results from a lack of understanding and awareness. Misinformation and miscommunication are hard enough to tackle. But greater depth, pluralism and context with increased comprehension is the higher objective.
Ben’s lifelong involvement for visual design and technology coupled with his passion to see great streets and places built and nourished led him to found and lead the company Urban Circus. He hopes that by people being more aware of their context, they will inherently create intelligent outcomes.
Ben's doctorate in urban design focussed on simplifying planning methods - using visual typologies to strengthen local character. He has a Bachelor of Science from Adelaide University in physics and environmental psychology with a postgraduate town planning degree from Cairns, Queensland.
